welcome to our website latest website updates
Welcome to the website of the British Transport Police Federation. We are a representative body, similar to a Trade Union but without the right to resort to industrial action.
The Federation is controlled and managed entirely by serving police officers and is not affiliated or associated with any bodies outside the service. Its' duty is to represent members in all matters affecting their welfare and efficiency.
The origins of the Federation can be traced back to 1919 when the wartime Railway Executive Committee appointed a sub-committee to consider rates of pay and service conditions of the 18 separate railway police forces.
The site offers an ideal George Lewis - Federation Chairmanopportunity to communicate with members and others who choose to log on. We hope you find the visit worthwhile and return again soon.
