BTPF History
Modern Times
In more recent times other important issues have been fought by the Federation and these have resulted in parity with the civil police in such areas as pensions and the payment of rent allowance.
It has been a long and remarkable road of achievement since 1919 and we should always acknowledge the vital role played by the Federation's pioneers - men like Harry John, George Mitchell, R Garbutt, George Harmer, Harold Wickens, Len Wright, Charles Cockburn, Gerry Tincknell and many more who are remembered by only a few.
Some of them started us on the long journey and others who sustained us along the way, when at times it seemed the road would never end. They didn't reach journey's end, but they helped us to get where we are today!
