Police Constable JOHN ARTHUR LONDON UNDERGROUND
On the 15th February 2004 in the early hours of the morning a serious disturbance broke out in Cranbourne Street, near to Leicester Square tube station, London. Information was received that one male was armed with a large bladed implement.
As John a motorcycle officer pulled into Cranbourne Street he saw an extremely agitated man waving a large boning knife at the crowd. Without hesitation John tackled the man ,an extremely violent struggle ensued whereupon John received several bites to his leg, however John managed to disarm the man without further injury to himself or members of the public.
At this point the some of the gathering crowd became hostile and with the aid of the Metropolitan Police they were dispersed without conflict.
