Police Constable ROGER ANDREWS LONDON NORTH
On Wednesday 23rd June 2004 Roger was off duty together with his family at the B and Q warehouse store in Thurrock Essex. Seeing a security guard struggling violently with a male person Roger left his family and went to his assistance. As he struggled violently with this person two other males approached one in possession of a knife the other a broken bottle. They threatened to injure the security guard and fearing for his safety, his families and that of members of the public Roger reluctantly released the male person.
They ran off to a waiting car, Roger managed to record a full description of the suspects and the car. This lead to the arrest and convictions of the three men who had carried out a series of violent robberies throughout Essex. They all received long custodial sentences.
