Lobbying your constituency MP
Dear Colleagues,
Please find below 'bullet points' to assist is any correspondence you may wish to send in relation to lobbying your constituency M.P. in respect of this years pay dispute.
- The official sides offer of 2.325% falls below inflation
- The offer means in real terms a reduction in pay
- We are unable to take industrial action this should be reflected in any pay award
- To change indexation to that of a group of public sector pay settlements because they currently receive lower settlements than the private sector is not justified
- The new proposed index includes government departments whose pay arrangements lack transparency, some indicate 0% pay increases.
- An alternative index proposed by the Federation includes public and private sector settlements which is reasonable
- The Staff Side claim of 3.94% to include compensation for the change to indexation is justifiable
- That the courage and commitment of the 170,000 Police Officers throughout the UK is recognised with a fair pay settlement
