E.U.R.O.C.O.P, the European Confederation of Police
On Thursday 31st October 2002 the two umbrella organisations for Police Federations in Europe, S.C.O.P.E. and U.I.S.P came together to form one new organisation named E.U.R.O.C.O.P, the European Confederation of Police.
This has a total membership of 530.000 officers and will prove to be a significant lobbying force within Europe. As a Federation we are part of the 25 Forces that comprise the E.U.R.O.C.O.P. Central Committee.
The significance of European Legislation and policies are increasingly impacting on policing within the United Kingdom and the new organisation will provide us with a vehicle to promote our views and protect our rights within Europe.
