Specialised railway policing put at risk by Scottish Government06 September, 2016
03 April 2007
Currently officers who wish to transfer into or out of British Transport Police are penalised with regards to Pension Transfer. Officers currently in the 30-year scheme have to enter the 35-year scheme. We view this as unfair as Home Office Forces do not face this penalty when officers transfer between County Forces.
The Federation and Police Authority are currently pursuing this issue via the Minister of Transport.
We await a reply on this matter.
