PROPOSED PENSION CHANGES
At the recent British Transport Police Superannuation Fund Management meeting the British Transport Police Authority indicated that it wished to broadly mirror the changes which are to be adopted by Home Office Forces in 2015. A period of formal consultation will commence in the coming months, prior to which full information on any proposed changes will be circulated. The Staff Side of the B.T.P.S.F. Committee which includes retired officers and ranks not represented by the Federation expressed their serious concerns regarding the Police Authority's proposal, our objections will be taken back to the Authority and Trustees. Once formal consultation with members commences we will provide advice on how to make your views known to the Trustee's of the Pension Fund. Agreement of the Trustee's Benefit and Funding Committee is needed prior to any changes to our current pension scheme structures. Your views will be vital in seeking to oppose these proposed changes.
