Railways and Transport Safety Bill
This Bill is currently progressing through Parliament and concerns various issues
related to the British Transport Police. These include the establishment of a Statutory Police Authority, jurisdiction and a link to Police Regulations.
The Bill has raised a number of important issues especially in relation to pensions, jurisdiction and our negotiating structure.
We are currently engaged in a series of meetings with officials from the
Department of Transport to ensure the provisions of the Bill do not disadvantage our members.
