PROTECTED TRAVEL TAXABLE BENEFITS

Following the refusal by the Police Authority to pay the taxable element of travel benefits the Federation recorded a failure to agree at the National Negotiating Meeting held in July 2006 this is now proceeding through our negotiating structure.

Running parallel with this approach our tax advisors are pursuing tax exemption for our members via the Treasury.

Following further legal advice we are also exploring Breach of Contract issues.

Resolution of this issue is a time consuming process, as soon as further information is available we will inform you of our progress.
