Home Secretary's Comments

Following a remark by the Home Secretary at the Superintendents Annual Conference indicating that he was keen to merge the British Transport POlice with the Metropolitan Police we have released the following press statement.

We are currently lobbying specific Members of Parliament, Unions and passenger consultative groups to express our grave concerns regarding the Home Secretary's comments. No formal consultation with any interested parties (including the Federation) has taken place. We will keep you advised of any future developments as they occur.
