Pay Dispute

Following a prolonged meeting at the offices of A.C.A.S. on Monday 13th October 2003 no agreement was reached in respect of the current dispute or indeed in respect of terms of reference for the forthcoming arbitration hearing.

As a consequence we now progress to mediation to determine the terms of reference for arbitration. Due to the A.C.A.S. meeting taking place under their terms of confidentiality I am prevented from providing full details of the proceedings to date. We are however dismayed at the approach the Force has adopted in respect of this dispute, which breaches all accepted negotiation practices.
