Consultation on Pay Review Body

The Home Secretary has launched consultation on a Pay Review Body despite the objections of all interested parties except for the Home Office.
The eight week consultation period is not adequate and the announcement via the media without the courtesy of informing the affected parties is just another instance of this Home Secretary trying to demoralise and ride roughshod over the Police Service. We will keep you updated on this issue as the so-called consultation progresses.
Please note that the Police Arbitration Tribunal Hearing on this years disputed pay award is due to take place on 21st October 2008.
