Frequent Questions
Q. If I perform Acting Inspector duties can I claim overtime or Rest Day
Working.
A. A Sergeant who has performed acting duties for 14 days and is thereafter
required to perform acting duties of an Inspector is entitled to be compensated
accordingly to the provisions that apply to Sergeants in respect of Rest Day
Working and Public Holidays.
N.B.
This does NOT apply to overtime
This does NOT apply to Temporary Duties.
Q. If I book my Annual Leave can I guarantee my Rest Days at the start and
finish.
A. The agreement is as follows :-
For avoidance of doubt Rest days rostered at the start or end of a period
of Annual Leave of not less than 5 days duration will be treated as part of
the leave period. Police Officers should therefore not be required to work on
these Rest Days except in extraordinary circumstances which can not be
avoided.
