Background
The Police Reform Package as negotiated at the Police Negotiating Board (P.N.B) is a number of measures designed to increase the efficiency of the Police Service and at the same time increase the monetary reward to officers. Amongst the provisions of the agreement are the following :-
- A minimum increase of £402 a year in basic pay for Federated ranks (Pensionable).
- Officers at the top of their pay scales for a year or more may be eligible to a competence related payment of £1002 per annum (pensionable).
- Access to special priority payments.
- Bonus payments.
- A scheme to reduce overtime by 15% over three years .
- The trigger point for the higher premium for rest day working reduced from eight days to five n.b. the current 15 day trigger point to remain.
- Three monthly duty rosters.
- Pay scales assimilated to provide quicker progression through the ranks.
- The loss of some fixed expenses.
