Parity of Pay with Home Office Forces
Our 100% parity of pay with Home Office Forces stems from the recommendations
of the Wright Committee inquiry into the pay of Non Home Office Police Forces
Dated July 1979. I reprint the recommendation :-
We therefore recommend a pay relativity for ranks up to Chief Superintendent of 100 % with the Home Departments Forces for the British Transport Police.
The recommendations of the enquiry were accepted by the Force and formal agreement with the Federation was recorded in green minute 305. ( Green minutes are binding agreements between the Federation and Force Management).
Consequently the Federation formally applied for the introduction of the
Police Reform Package with effect from the 1st April 2003.
