Machinery Of Negotiation
The Machinery of Negotiation is a formally agreed document that lays out the procedure for negotiations between Force Management and the Federation. On the 5th June 2003 a National Negotiating Meeting was convened. Numerous issues were placed on the agenda including Police Reforms and the three items linked to its payment by Force Management. the Federation registered a Formal Failure to Agree due to the insistence by the Force that they would withhold Payment of the Reforms Package until the successful outcome of negotiations into these three items. On the 17th July the next stage of the Machinery of Negotiation took place, the Force Conference.
A further failure to agree was recorded due to the intransigence of Force Management.
The matter progresses to independent arbitration under the auspices of A.C.A.S. As a Federation we will expedite this matter as quickly as possible.
